Our mission is to strengthen individuals and families through practical support and contribute positively to the community.
Foundation of the association
At the White Hawk Society for Personal Support, we have worked in Ljubljana since 2013. The society was founded by people from different fields to support individuals and groups whose access to practical help, services or aids is limited by social barriers. We advocate improvements in social care and healthcare and work with professionals and organisations to provide practical support to individuals and families.
The desire to help
The experience of our members showed us that organising and accessing appropriate specialist treatment remains a serious problem for children, young people and adults with different disabilities. Families and individuals can also struggle to find suitable support services, professionals and reliable information. We want to help people overcome less visible barriers so that they can live fully and realise as much of their potential as possible.
Well-designed campaigns to help individuals
Charitable organisations are an essential part of a developed society, but even well-intentioned projects can be hindered by bureaucracy, staffing constraints or narrow interests. As a result, carefully planned initiatives sometimes fail to reach the people who genuinely need support.
Small actions with big impact
We therefore put the person receiving support at the centre of our work and use small, focused actions to help where help is actually needed. We remain a small association and work with professionals and supporters to highlight systemic problems that may otherwise remain overlooked. Addressing these challenges enables people to realise their potential and enrich society, rather than being defined only by a problem.
At the White Hawk Society for Personal Support, we try to understand the overall situation and offer users the opportunity to stay active and focused on what is important to them.
